EASTBOURNE MINIATURE RAILWAY Situated at Lottbridge Drove, for railway enthusiasts large and small. Have a ride on a miniature locomotive around the lake, play in the adventure playground and pop coins `in the slot` to see real train sets in action in a variety of settings.

KNOCKHATCH ADVENTURE PARK AND SKI/SNOWBOARDING Near Hailsham includes a children`s adventure park with go karts, farm animals, reptiles, birds of prey (displaying daily) and boating lake. You can also take part in a laser game. For a special treat book an Animal Keeper Experience including a Meerkat Experience, Owl Experience or Halk-Walks etc. Ski and Snowboarding Centre also open!

HOUSES, PARKS AND GARDENS Enjoy a wonderful day out at Herstmonceux Castle and Science Centre with a look around the observatories.

DRUSILLA`S Zoo Park has a Zoo including a new-for-2013 red panda. There is a Lemur colony, a Thomas the Tank Engine ride and the ever growing adventure playground all set in the beautiful valley near Alfriston.  

MICHELHAM PRIORY, at Arlington with a beautiful gardens, water mill, sculpture trail and moated Priory itself to wander around. A lovely day out.

NATIONAL TRUST AND ENGLISH HERITAGE SITES: Pevensey Castle, Pevensey - visit the Roman ruins - walking around inside the walls is free (and a good place for a sheltered picnic) - and explore inside for a small charge. Alfriston Clergy House, Alfriston in the Cuckmere Valley. Battle Abbey and 1066 Battle Ground (where, apparently, Harold, last of the Anglo-Saxon Kings, was beaten in battle by William the Conqueror). Batemans, Burwash - former home of Rudyard Kipling Bodiam Castle, Bodiam - a moated castle and grounds. Arundel, Dover and Leeds Castles are all within a 90 minute drive.
